2Day FM began in 1980 as one of three stations licensed to operate in Sydney. The station was then owned by John Laws, Mike Willesee, Village and Graham Kenedy. Since then., the station has gone through various changes. It is currently part of the Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit Network. The station broadcasts its Top40 music format using an eighty-thousand-watt transmitter.

Some of the station’s popular programs include Em Rusciano with Harley Breen, World Famous Rooftop, Hamish and Randy, Carrie and Tommy and Ash London Live. Other programs include Weekend Breakfast with Ryan and Tanya, The Queen Sesh with Constance Hall, Boxed in with Fifi Box, Collective Noun, Heat AU and After Party with Rojdar amongst others.
